Carpet care instructions

There are a huge number of types of carpets. Their pile can be cut or looped, single-level or multi-level. The height of the pile, density and color of the coating can also be different. In addition, carpets are made from a variety of materials (both natural and synthetic), and are used in completely different rooms.

Therefore, the service life and durability of maintaining the appearance of the carpet depends on many factors that need to be taken into account when choosing a material. Any carpet becomes dirty during use. This manual contains basic recommendations for caring for carpet. Please follow our recommendations to extend the life of your carpet.

To ensure that the carpet remains clean for as long as possible, you can create an area in the house where dirt from shoes can be cleaned, because 80% of dirt is brought into the house on the soles of shoes.

To clean large and hard dirt, a mat made of bristly material (coconut or PVC) is suitable, which will easily clean out the dirt. For rainy weather, rugs with soft synthetic pile are well suited to absorb moisture and fine dirt.

Regular dry vacuuming is an essential way to maintain your carpet. Dirt will not accumulate in the pile and can be easily removed. In addition, the vacuum cleaner also removes the smallest dust that settles on the coating, preventing it from rising into the air.

The most frequently used areas on carpet (for example, the entrance to the room, elevator lobbies, etc.) naturally require additional care. Regular vacuuming will help maintain the appearance of your carpet and extend its lifespan.

Basic rules for cleaning with a vacuum cleaner:

Clean your carpet regularly. In domestic premises - at least once a week, in public premises - daily.
Replace the dust bags in the vacuum cleaner in time - when the bag is full, the power of the vacuum cleaner decreases.
If necessary, use smaller attachments for areas that are used the most.
Despite regular vacuuming, carpeting can become dirty over time. Do not delay cleaning, as the dirtier the coating, the more difficult it is to clean. Sometimes only part of the coating is dirty, and only this part needs to be cleaned.

In any case, it is recommended to trust deep carpet cleaning to companies that deal with this professionally. The specialist will choose the appropriate cleaning method, depending on the type of contamination and the material of the pile. The cleaning result will depend on the cleaning method and reagents chosen.

Of all known cleaning methods, dry cleaning gives the best results. During such cleaning, cleaning powder is scattered onto the contaminated surface of the carpet and rubbed in with turbo brushes (if necessary, the surface is pre-treated with an aerosol stain remover).

Then, leave the reagent on the floor for some time (usually 20-30 minutes so that the powder absorbs dirt) and simply vacuum it up. The main advantages of this method are that there are no residues of detergents left in the coating, which absorb dirt and are removed with a powerful vacuum cleaner; the coating remains dry and can be walked on both during the cleaning process and immediately after it.

In addition, in the process of rubbing the reagent with turbo brushes, the carpet pile is combed and restores its original direction. This method has one drawback - to achieve a good result, you need to entrust the work to truly professionals.

Important Notes:

Laying and deep cleaning of carpet are things that require certain skills, so they must be trusted to specialists.
Do not knock dust out of the carpet - only vacuum it.
Do not clean carpets in the snow.
It is not recommended to use a vacuum cleaner or other wet cleaning methods.
When cleaning regularly, do not use too hard brushes.
During the first month of operation, you should not intensively clean the coating with a vacuum cleaner.
Remember that dragging furniture, especially heavy furniture, across the floor can damage the carpet.

To maintain normal humidity (especially in the winter months), daily ventilation of the room is necessary so that the coating is saturated with moisture from fresh air. The same procedure will help the coating not to dry out and shrink. If basic ventilation cannot increase the humidity in the room, you need to use a humidifier.
When using wool (or mixed) carpets, it is possible to separate loose wool fibers from the pile, which is not an indicator of poor quality material or manufacturing defects, but is a feature of natural fiber. Only a synthetic thread can be smooth and continuous; natural materials, such as sisal, wool, linen, etc., always have heterogeneity and unconnected fibers. Over time, this effect will weaken or stop completely.

Deep cleaning of the carpet is recommended as it gets dirty, but in public areas - at least once a year. Deep cleaning should be done using professional equipment and only by a specialist.
If you spill something on the carpet, you must urgently take the following actions. Using a spoon, remove as much liquid as possible, starting from the edge of the stain towards the center. Then, lightly blot the stain with a white cloth or napkin until it is dry. Don't rub! Rubbing can damage the structure and color of the pile. It is necessary to carry out treatment from the edge of the stain to the center in order to avoid increasing the stain.
